About the Role:
The Mid-Level Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the financial operations of a fast-paced mortgage lending environment. This position ensures the accuracy of daily financial activities while leveraging advanced data tools to provide insights into loan pipelines and operational efficiency. The role bridges traditional accounting functions with business intelligence to support financial excellence and a five-star client experience.

🛠 Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily general ledger activities, including AP/AR, vendor bill entry, and bank reconciliations using QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Dynamics
• Partner with Operations and Loan Origination teams to ensure accurate booking of loan-related expenses and revenue
• Develop and maintain automated financial dashboards in Power BI to track KPIs, loan volume trends, and cost-per-loan metrics
• Assist in synchronizing data between Microsoft Dynamics and mortgage origination systems to ensure accurate and unified financial reporting
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, prepayments, and intercompany transactions in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare audit work papers and support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with mortgage-specific regulations and disclosures
• Identify and implement process improvements by automating workflows using Microsoft Dynamics and Power BI
• Contribute to maintaining efficient financial processes that support a 7–21 day loan closing cycle

✅ Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3–6 years of progressive accounting experience at a mid-level
• Expert-level knowledge of QuickBooks Online for transactional accounting
• Practical experience using Microsoft Dynamics for ERP functions
• Strong ability to build, manage, and interpret dashboards and reports in Power BI
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, Power Query, and complex formulas
• Ability to communicate financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders
• Prior experience in Mortgage Lending, Real Estate, or Financial Services preferred
• Familiarity with loan-level accounting, warehouse line reconciliations, or mortgage servicing rights (MSR) valuation support
• Experience supporting system implementations, software migrations, or third-party integrations with Microsoft Dynamics
