The client operates a growing law firm focused on Social Security Disability, Supplemental Security Income, and Veterans Law cases. The firm supports clients throughout the full process, from initial applications to appeals, ensuring proper documentation and consistent case follow up. As the firm continues to expand across multiple practice areas, they are looking to bring in experienced professionals who can support specialized case types with a high level of accuracy and client care.
About the Role:
The client is seeking a Legal Assistant with direct experience in Veterans Law to support both intake and ongoing case management. This role involves working closely with veterans, gathering and reviewing documentation, assisting with claims and appeals processes, and maintaining consistent communication throughout the lifecycle of each case. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail oriented, and already familiar with VA procedures, terminology, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Veterans Client Intake and Communication
- Handle incoming calls from prospective and existing veteran clients
- Screen and qualify clients based on VA disability eligibility criteria
- Guide clients through intake questionnaires specific to veterans claims
- Provide consistent updates and support to clients throughout their case
Veterans Case Coordination and Follow Up
- Ensure all required documentation is collected, reviewed, and properly submitted
- Maintain timelines and deadlines specific to veterans cases
CRM and Documentation Management
- Maintain accurate and up to date records of all client interactions
- Upload and organize medical records, service records, and supporting documentation
- Ensure case files are complete and compliant with VA requirements
- Track key case milestones and updates in the system
Qualifications & Skills
Must
- Fluent in English with strong communication skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working specifically in Veterans Law
- Hands on experience handling VA disability claims and or appeals
- Strong understanding of VA processes, terminology, and documentation requirements
- High attention to detail and ability to manage complex case information
- Ability to manage multiple cases in a structured and deadline driven environment
- High level of accountability and reliability
Preferred
- Experience working with VA accredited attorneys or representatives
- Spanish speaking is a plus
- Familiarity with VA systems, forms, and submission processes
- Experience in high volume legal environments
- Associate’s Degree or higher
