They are looking for a reliable professional who can support purchasing and vendor coordination efforts while helping streamline day to day operations.
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator/Takeoff Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately interpreting construction blueprints for residential and multi-family projects, performing comprehensive material take-offs, and managing essential communication with stakeholders to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Blueprint Interpretation & Analysis: Expertly read and interpret architectural and structural blueprints for homes and apartment complexes. Identify discrepancies, missing information, or conflicts within the plans.
- Take-off & Quantification: Perform detailed and accurate material take-offs to determine project requirements.
- Technical Documentation: Draft clear, professional Request for Information (RFI) documents to resolve plan ambiguities or missing details.
- Supplier Relations: Manage communication with vendors and subcontractors; solicit and review price quotations for products and services.
- Building Knowledge: Apply a deep understanding of current United States building practices, codes, and methodologies to all estimates and communications.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in construction estimating and material take-offs (Minimum 3 years).
- Advanced ability to read and interpret complex residential and multi-family construction drawings.
- Strong command of US building practices and construction standards.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in US English.
- Strong professional demeanor; comfortable coordinating between field staff, management, and external suppliers.
- Ability to work independently, troubleshoot issues, and take initiative to clarify project requirements.
